Texture Hair Services

Are you dreaming of bouncy curls, or want smooth, frizz free hair? Let our stylists give you the hair of your dreams!

Please note certain stylists only perform certain chemical services. Due to the nature of these services and the time they require, we currently do not offer online booking for all of our chemical services. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Keratin Smoothing

What it is:

Semi-permanent treatment that smooths and straightens hair by adding a protein coating to the hair fiber. It helps with frizz and will add shine. Unlike chemical straightening, the effects of the smoothing do not change the natural structure of your hair and will fade over time for a natural grow out.

Hair can be colored, however it needs to be colored before Keratin is applied. Color can be applied same day as Keratin treatment.

What to Expect:

Hair will be washed with clarifying shampoo and followed by a rough dry. The smoothing solution will be applied and sealed with a flat iron. You will be washed one more time with a deep conditioning mask before a final blow dry.

Results last between 3-5 months depending on lifestyle (washing/styling, etc) and your natural growth pattern.

Notes from our Stylists:

Sulfate free shampoo is a must!

  • This is in order to preserve the keratin proteins as sulfate free formulas are gentler on the hair.

  • We have many options to choose from in the salon. Feel free to ask for recommendations!

Protect your hair as much as possible

  • Avoid wearing your hair in tight styles during the first few days to prevent denting/creasing

  • If swimming in the ocean or pool, put leave in conditioner in your hair

Hair can be washed after treatment

  • Note the more you wash your hair, the faster the results will fade.

  • We recommend waiting at least 24-72 hours for optimal results.

Japanese Straightening

What it is:

Chemical hair straightening, also known as Japanese Straightening is a permanent chemical process that completely restructures the hair bonds. It takes any textures such as curly, wavy, and frizzy hair to permanently pin-straight flat hair. There will be a line of demarcation between the chemically straightened hair and the natural regrowth as the treated hair will remain straight until it is fully grown out.

Hair SHOULD NOT be colored before or after this service!! We recommend waiting a minimum of 2 weeks pre/post coloring to avoid long term damage.

What to Expect:

Hair will be washed with clarifying shampoo and followed by a rough dry. The activator solution, which straightens the hair, will be applied before being rinsed off. Then, the hair is dried and flat ironed before applying the neutralizer.

Results last about 6 months, meaning this is the point where you will see your natural growth pattern in the roots. This can vary depending on how quickly your hair grows.

Notes from our Stylists:

Home hair care is a must!

  • Sulfate free shampoo helps to preserve the integrity of your hair as the formulas are gentler. We have many options to choose from in the salon. Feel free to ask for recommendations!

  • Regular at home mask treatments are recommended.

Protect your hair as much as possible

  • Avoid wearing hair in tight styles for at least 3 days post treatment

  • Avoid using heat styling tools and products with alcohol

  • Hair should not be washed for at least 3 days post treatment

Hair will be pin straight and flat

  • Hair will not hold a curl/wave from heat stylings tools. Please keep this in mind when booking this service!

Amika Smooth Over

Results last between 6-7 weeks depending on lifestyle (washing/styling, etc) and your natural growth pattern.

Perms

What it is:

A chemical treatment that permanently alters the texture of your hair to create curls. Modern perm formulas can help you achieve a variety of looks from tight curls to looser beach waves.

Hair SHOULD NOT be colored before or after this service!! We recommend waiting a minimum of 2 weeks post perm to color hair to avoid long term damage.

What to Expect:

During a perm your hair is divided into sections and wrapped around perm rods. Then a chemical solution is applied to break down the hair's bonds and reform them into the desired shape. After processing a neutralizer is applied, the rods are removed, and your hair is rinsed and styled to your  liking.

Results last between 3-6 months, depending on the the type of perm you get, the length and texture of your hair and at home care.

Notes from our Stylists:

Home hair care is a must!

  • Swap your regular shampoo and conditioner with a moisturizing system. We have many options to choose from in the salon. Feel free to ask for recommendations!

  • When brushing your newly-permed hair, skip the brush and use a wide-tooth comb and your favorite detangler to maintain spirals/curls.

Protect your hair as much as possible

  • Avoid washing or getting hair wet for at least 48 hours post-appointment to allow your curls to set properly.

  • While you can straighten permed hair, it’s best to avoid heat styling as much as possible particularly for the first two weeks
